Lorna Muir is a textile designer/ maker living and working in Calverley in West Yorkshire. Her personal practice is an intuitive response to buildings and artefacts and associated human interactions with the natural and built environment.
Lorna Muir is passionate about cloth and thread and associated technologies. She has endeavoured to convey that passion through her practice, her teaching career in secondary education, her work as a mentor and tutor for PGCE students and in her current role as a part time tutor working with adult learners. She has also volunteered with the charity Fine Cell Work teaching embroidery to male prisoners in HMP Leeds.
